CALEX^® Cap / CALEX^® Valve stool extraction

The BÜHLMANN CALEX^® Cap has been introduced to fulfill the requirements of convenient and safe stool extraction. The simple handling makes it applicable in self testing . The optimized dilution of stool sample yields maximum extraction efficiency while offering a stability of the extracts for up to 3 days, suitable for transportation at ambient temperatures. The extraction using CALEX^® Cap shows very good correlation to gold standard weighing method for stool extraction and is therefore characterized by high reliability.

Furthermore, the design of the CALEX^® Cap is fully compatible with automated procedures such as the newly introduced BÜHLMANN fCAL^® turbo, the random access immuno turbidimetric calprotectin assay. Optimized dilution of stool extracts provides access to any of BÜHLMANN calprotectin assays such as Quantum Blue^®and the BÜHLMANN fCAL^® ELISA.

The CALEX^® Valve Extraction device was introduced in combination with IBDoc^® combining stool extraction and pipetting in one device, but can be used also with other BÜHLMANN calprotectin assays such as Quantum Blue^®. It is based on the CALEX^® Cap but features a valve that allows the release of a specified amount of stool extract directly onto a laminar flow test cassette. CALEX^® Valve is intended for use in the BÜHLMANN calprotectin self testing application IBDoc^®.
