Gastroenterology

Calprotectin

Calprotectin is an incredibly valuable research tool. The calprotectin technology platforms offered by BÜHLMANN range from the gold standard ELISA assay, BÜHLMANN fCAL® ELISA, to the lateral flow rapid test, Quantum Blue®, to the new IBDoc® self test and to the automated random access BÜHLMANN fCAL® turbo assay. This portfolio provides all possible applications for measuring calprotectin from the subject’s home test to the high throughput lab. BÜHLMANN is continuously evolving IBD solutions to meet customers’ needs.

CRP

The Quantum Blue® CRP test allows for a rapid determination of serum CRP within 20 minutes and it is an ideal tool to accompany the calprotectin determination. The combination of the two markers has shown to increase the specificity for detecting and studying IBD. The ease of use and speed of these two tests on the Quantum Blue® platform make this technology a very convenient addition for various test settings and gastrointestinal studies.

Quantum Blue®

The Quantum Blue® rapid tests are sensitive tools that provide a valuable means to obtain quantitative results for calprotectin, CRP, and MRP8/14. Concentration (in µg/g stool) are available within 12 minutes and are very comparable to the established BÜHLMANN fCAL® ELISA.

IBDoc®

IBDoc® is under development and is not available for sale in the U.S. or Canada. IBDoc® is the first self testing application for fecal calprotectin in IBD subjects. Based on BÜHLMANN’s long-lasting experience with calprotectin assays, IBDoc® allows IBD subjects for convenient self testing of fecal calprotectin. CALEX® Valve has been developed for simple and easy-to-handle stool extraction. The incorporated valve allows the precise application of 60 µl onto the test cassette. The CalApp® smart phone application is available for iOS and Android that transforms smartphones into a test cassette reader.

Automation

BÜHLMANN has recently introduced BÜHLMANN fCAL® turbo, the immuno turbidimetric fecal calprotectin assay, providing flexible and random access application on all major clinical chemistry platforms.
